In an email to members yesterday, Freeride.com announced that it would be eliminating all $10 gift cards from their redemption catalog, “due to rising costs.” The lowest cashout available is now a $15 GC, for 18,500 tokens. Due to rising costs, Freeride has raised the face value of gift cards available for redemption. Effective May 1, 2008, $10 gift cards will no longer be available. Instead we will be offering gift cards in increments of $15 (18,500 tokens),$25 (31,500 tokens) and $50 (55,000 tokens).
Please note: We are not replacing redemptions once they have been sent. Amazon gift certificates can be resent to the same email address that is used for your Freeride Account.

One comment, although the language is in the future “gift cards will no longer be available” the email actually refers to the past (They sent the email May 2 about a change that started May 1). Ideally, I would like rewards programs to give advanced notice of such changes.
Yes, that would be great to have atleast some notice. But atleast they did send out an email. Netwinner didn’t even do that.
I would like to comment on the slam, by Netwinner,that we should go out and get a job. Excuse me but I do have a job and receive a paycheck everyweek. I only played so I could get a refillable master card or other gift card. I was referred to the site because I was playing in Gamesville and several of us were talking about whether anyone had won any cash and several of us were told about Netwinner and how we could cash in our points earned there for cash. I joined Netwinner on June 24, 2007 and I cashed out on November 13, 2007 for a $50.00 ecount card. I do not consider that enough to call it a job. I continued to play and save my points so I could upload my card once I received it. I had my points built up to 100,000 for a value of $100.00 so again not enough to even fill my gas tank little alone a job. We kept reading how this one and that one received their cards. Yes, I understand that it did not cost us anything but our time and the flooding of our temp files. Which caused our computers to slow way down and even crash. But yes we were just out our time. I make an hourly wage at my job. So excuse me, I think my time is worth something. Do unto others before they can do it to you is their motto I guess. They kept saying changes had to be made due to the fraud of the players. I have played at Netwinner since the change but not nearly as much. I was mainly trying to keep my account open in case they have to pay us but I guess I just accepted the changes instead after reading your notes from Netwinner. You know the old saying, nothing is free. They have proved that.
