Are the Old S&H Green Stamps Worth Anything? YES!

October 18, 2006 · 66 comments

Do you still have some of those old S&H Green Stamps lying around the house? Don’t throw them away! In checking for a friend to find out if they’re still worth anything, I came across a section in the FAQs of Greenpoints.com, the online version of the old Green Stamps program.  It says that if you mail your stamps in to them, they will convert them to points and you can either cash them in for a prize immediately, or put them in your Greenpoints account to save up for a bigger prize.  (Stamps with a 1 on them will be worth 1 point, those with a 10 will be worth 10 points, etc.)

If you choose to convert them to Greenpoints, here is the current S&H Green Stamps (Greenpoints) catalog.

Ready to cash in those Green Stamps?  Here’s how you do it:

First, join Greenpoints here. When you enroll, you’ll be given an S&H Member Number.

Next, get together these items to mail to them by insured mail:

1.  Your stamps — affixed to sheets of 8.5 x 11 paper if they’re not already affixed to official S&H Stamp Books (they will NOT accept loose stamps)
2.  A brief note including your S&H Member Number, your name, address, and daytime phone number, your redemption choice (cash or Greenpoints), and your count of the number of stamps being submitted.

Mail these items to:

If you go to eBay now…type in vintage flying wall ducks geese birds Mid century modern wooden Maskateers. I think this is what your looking for. My gramma had them too. Hope it’s the right one but they are a little expensive.
Good Luck!

I mailed eight books full of S&H Green stamps I accumulated over the years to a Yahira Lopez almost a year ago. She was on the internet offering financial compensation for the favor. I must of gotten ripped off because I never again heard from this woman. And yes, I included my personal info and phone number. I live in Chicago.
To date, however, I am still kicking myself for having mislaid HER contact information with only her name left so having nothing to lose at this point does anyone that is still dealing in these stamps know of this individual so that – at worst – I can file an internet fraud report?
Many thanks from an old lady that like so many of us today gets defrauded as easy prey.

Marta,
Are you sure it was Yahira Lopez and not “Maria” Lopez? because I see that there is a Maria Lopez which has posted this information :

“S&H GREENSTAMP REDEMPTION POLICY HAS CHANGED AS OF OCTOBER 2012″

Yes, Green Stamps are certainly worth something… You can exchange them only for S&H greenpoints. We are no longer redeeming Green Stamps for cash. We convert Green Stamps to greenpoints using a one to one ratio. So, if you have 50 total Green Stamps, they will be converted to 50 greenpoints.

Please ship your stamps and order information to:

ProLogic Consumer Marketing Services, Inc.
ATTN: S&H Green Stamps Processing Department
1625 South Congress Avenue, Suite 301
Delray Beach, FL 33445

We highly recommend that you ship your package using a method that will allow you to track the delivery to our facility. We will not accept stamps dropped off at this address.

** NOTE: All Green Stamps submitted for conversion must include a notarized statement that includes all of the following:

A count of the number of Green Stamps being submitted
The name and location of the store(s) where they were obtained
Your S&H Member Number (you are issued this number when you enroll with S&H greenpoints)
Your name, email address, postal address and daytime phone number

Any Green Stamps that are submitted without proper documentation will be discarded.

Once your Stamps are validated based upon the information provided in your notarized letter, you can expect to receive an update to your greenpoints balance within 2 weeks from the date of our receipt of your Stamp shipment.

Oh My Lord!! There IS one more Sr. citizen beside myself getting rooked off by S&H. In my HUD Seniors only building – not only did the Feds recently imposed entry “to all” that includes recent jail birds but something almost identical to you happened to me last year. In my case I mailed 4 small boooks and 5 large books full of S&H Green Stamps that I’d been collecting for 9 years. The point? Thus far there has been no recourse for what is now the largest fraud-businesses to go after. IN THIS CASE: S&H. Why don’t we all get together to file a law suit? I bet if everyone that accesses this site pulls in adding their own sad story…… WE CAN DO IT! With the advent of internet we can gather hundreds of Sr’s that have been taken by S&H. iT’S TIME TO FIGHT BACK!
Let us go to war now!!!

I found books of S & H green stamps in a Box. We had a fire back in 1974 and lost our home. The firemen were able to save a few things. We placed everything in boxes and from time to time we have opened a box or two etc. etc. We just found these in one of our last boxes this week. Please give me a phone number to call as we want to get cash, credit or whatever we can get for these books ( 17 filled ). Thank you

PS: I would like to talk to someone on the phone please . . . . .can you mail me a catalog ??

The company that purchased S&H Green stamps NO LONGER EXISTS. It closed it’s doors and sold it’s assets to several different companies. This happened back in 2008. I don’t think that they are worth anything now. This article appears to have been written back when S&H was still in existence.

I got this information from Wikipedia. Hopefully this link will take you to that article. It also gives an interesting history of the company.

Greenpoints (the S&H Green Stamps program) is still very much alive and well in Delray Beach, FL. They were sold off by Pay By Touch as a result of their bankruptcy in 2008. Here’s a listing showing the current Active status of The Sperry and Hutchinson Company, Inc. in the state of Florida:

http://www.sunbiz.org/scripts/cordet.exe?action=DETFIL&inq_doc_number=850798&inq_came_from=NAMFWD&cor_web_names_seq_number=0001&names_name_ind=N&names_cor_number=804287&names_name_seq=0000&names_name_ind=N&names_comp_name=SPERRYFLOUR&names_filing_type=

Their latest annual report is here: http://www.sunbiz.org/pdf/19432978.pdf

Randy – if you’re really interested in selling them, you might try a location where they’d be seen – either eBay or (if you want to avoid account setup, etc., ) try craigslist.com. Traffic here is so low that you’re unlikely to find a buyer this way. But…good luck, no matter what you do.

I am numb over all this green stamp and certificate, what is considered good and what they chose to not honor. Were they not all received as a reward for purchasing their supplies at corresponding merchants? So why are some still accepted while the larger ones not? Seems to me that they were given out when the purchase was much larger. That is kinda a slap in the face to those who bought in bulk! If you read up on the history behind them, they were also redeemed. Much like a travelers check, if I’m reading it right.
My Dad passed recently and he led me to believe that they were good and could help with the estate bills that I inherited, and if I cashed them in. .it would help. . . He left me in such a pickle. . . I am finding myself in debt now and going down In flames over his debts! I personally was debt free till last month. . . If anyone knows a tip. . Or a collector. . Anything that may help. . . Please let me know! I have 34,800 in certificates. .. And oodles of stamps and and books! ThAnk you! Sandie

SERIOUSLY???
And just how do you think anyone is going to know the name and location of the stores where they obtained all these stamps ???? My parents traveled all over the US and always got gas where they gave green stamps so my Mother could collect them. There is no way I or my Mother if she was still alive, could tell you where she got all her stamps! So basically what you are saying to all these people is… Mail me your stamps and because you are not sending me the information required, you will never hear from me again! That is just mean. I will keep my Mother’s stamps and her memories thank you!

At age 74, it is difficult for me to remember the names of the grocery stores that gave green stamps, back when I was a young woman. Surely listing the small towns where I received them should be documentation enough. I just wish I had redeemed them before S&H sold the enterprise. If only I had cleaned out my storeroom sooner!

I ran across two S&H Saver Books 2,100 stamps as part of my late mother in law’s legacy. They are nostalgic because my mom collected them too. I do not want to throw them away. I would rather mail them at no cost to someone who would want to add them to their own collection/stockpile. I repeat, I am NOT looking for compensation. 2,100 stamps is not enough to seek my conversion into greenpoints and besides, I hope that they would help someone.

I found a bunch of green stamps at the the curb of a house where many items had been thrown for garbage pick up so I brought them home uncertain if they had any value but knowing they are old. I’m guessing an elderly person passed away and someone was throwing their unwanted items away, judging by how old some of the items appeared. I can tell its going to be a chore to redeem these for anything by reading the posts. So I hate to throw them away but I don’t have space to keep so if someone wants them, let me know.

I just looked at the page with the gift certificates listed. at the bottom, it says Prologic, 2014. so the site was active as of then. It does give a list of requirements when you send them in for redemption, one of which is a notarized affidavit stating a few things, one of which is the store where you got the stamps. it goes on to say, stamps sent in without all the proper stuff will be tossed. so, with the cost of postage, plus tracking and paying for the notary, unless you have enough stamps for at least a $15 gift certificate, you will probably be using money.
