Memolink Screws Loyal Members…Then Sends Flowers

“C’mon, give ‘em another chance! They’re catching up on their redemptions! Why are you so hard on Memolink?”
THIS, my friends, is why.

I’ve tried to warn y’all. They’ve got no respect for their users. They’ve mistreated you again and again.

And the “New, Improved, Dazzling Memolink” unveiled yesterday proved my point.

As the site came back up, everyone found that their points were worth 10% of what they were before. A $25 GC that used to cost 4300 points is now 43,200 points. OMG!

There was melee, rioting in the streets, women burning their bras, and…

Wait! Users logging in today found that their old balances had been multiplied by 10. “Oh, isn’t Memolink great! They gave us more points! They love us, they really love us!” ALMOST enough points to make up for the increases in the cost to cash out.

Almost.

The smoke-and-mirrors trick also tries to hide the fact that the New Dazzling Memolink is now paying less for the offers on the site. An illustration –

Earlier this week:

A $25 GC cost 4,300 points
Netflix signup gave you 1,750 points (worth $10.17)
AOL Call Alert signup gave you 625 points (worth $3.63)
uPromise signup gave you 375 points (worth $2.18)
StarClub signup gave you 1000 points (worth $5.81)
Disney Movie Club signup gave you 600 points (worth $3.49)

NOW:

A $25 GC costs 43,200 points
Netflix signup gives you 12,400 points (worth $7.18 — 29% less than before)
AOL Call Alert gives you 5,000 points (worth $2.89 — 20% less than before)
uPromise gives you 3,300 points (worth $1.91 — 12% less than before)
StarClub gives you 7,200 points (worth $4.17 — 28% less than before)
Disney Movie Club gives you 4,000 points (worth $2.31 — 34% less than before)

Now, the obvious question — to me — is, why did Memolink put its site back online with everyone’s point values all messed up?

The obvious answer — to me — is that it was part of their planned subterfuge to divert attention from the fact that they upped cashout costs values and dropped offer values, making it harder to reach cashout.

Lookit, guys, here’s the bottom line: there are other rewards programs that pay you more for offers and shopping, that send out rewards faster, and that have faster and friendlier customer service. PERIOD. But don’t take my word for it. Ask around.

I’ve been with Memolink for years and waited for over a year before getting some of my rewards. I think their new site & it’s policies STINK! As soon as I receive my last reward from them, they are out of my life!

I’m counting my stars that I cashed out 2 weeks ago. Strangely, though, the reward histroy shows it as a _$26_ gift certificate instead of $25.

On their new dazzing site they were so bold as to ask for feedback so I gave it to them. I told them that I would rather have a catheter inserted by a stranger off the street because it was bound to be less painful for a shorter period of time.
I looked and I have been a member on that site since July 11, 1999. If their negative balance on my account is a reflection of all the points I have earned then I have accumulated close to 475,000 points through the years.
I too have just recently redeemed for a Wal-Mart GC. As soon as I get it, my account is history. I can think of better ways to spend my time than clicking for scam artists. Stick a fork in me, I’m done.

Hmmm. You must think you are some kind of expert in website design and maintenance? Well, frankly, if you had a clue about how difficult it is to do what Memolink has done, you wouldn’t make such petty remarks about points being messed up. At least they had the decency to advise the members and reassure them that the points would be corrected (and they were). Do you expect these people to work 24/7 to fix problems just for you???
Yes, there are other loyalty programs, but you know what? You get out what you put in. If people actually do offers so Memolink gets paid (and no they are not paid on clicks like some idiots like to say) then perhaps they will have funds to get prizes out faster. Perhaps if people stopped selfishly complaining for 2 seconds to the BBB and PlanetFeedback then Memolink would be able to have access to better prizes (companies that could offer better prizes would work closer with them).
People need to stop and think before they open their mouths and type at their keyboards. Is it really so hard to wait a few days before things are fixed such as points? Do you really think other sites don’t have problems like this? I know for a fact that some of the sites I shop through for instance do not show discounts in their confirmation emails. Once customer service nicely told me this, I never complained again.
Bottom line – you want better prizes? You want faster prize shipments? You want a better Memolink – you should be a better member!!!

If it wrong to just collect points soley doing trivia and site visits to earn enough points to cash out, rather than sign-ups & trials, then why do they allow members to do it? Perhaps members that do those offers are more profitable for memolink, but is it any breach of terms to NOT do them? If this causes them a problem, they should require that people do a set amount of sign-up offers before they can redeem for a prize then.
The new design did absolutely nothing for me except take away the navigation that I was previously comfortable with, making it more confusing to me. Do I have to be an expert in web design and maintenance to dislike what I see as a member and talk about it? No. Neither does anyone else.
This is my opinion. I feel it is everyone’s right to openly state their opinion of programs and businesses, good or bad, to the BBB, or elsewhere, and also to discuss what they think with anyone they choose. I’m sure there are people who are fine with the new memolink changes, and that’s great for them, but I am not one of them. I happen to agree with CompareRewards.com and I have finally quit memolink.

Ahm Josh, we forget what a complaint really is. It is a way to notify the person of some wrong doing. With them recieving so many new complaints every day and week, states they are doing something wrong. Complaints are there so that those that recieve it can “FIX IT”.
But I’m sure rather then worrying something as unimportant as how many points you have or if your a premier member they had something really important to do and find a how much they should be lowering their rates by and how to cover it up.

I just followed the link to BBB and found the following info. I also found that they have had well over 700 complaints. The listing on BBB seems to sum it all up rather well. DUMP MEMOSTINK!and the other 2 sites they run.

I have never had a problem with memolink untill today. when my comupter froze i was on their site and now its saying that i amnot authorizedto view there site to t my credentials. Wht is that about? I haven’t been a member for that long and i sined up to help bring in some extra income for my family but so fasr i have only earned about 170 points. So i agree that memolink is full of crap and i will not be logging back in.
