I have belonged to My Points for several years now. Because I am not in a position to spend a lot of money online, it takes me quite awhile to earn a reward. However, when I do redeem points, the rewards arrive in the mail quickly. There is a very long list of merchants whose GCs you can obtain with your points. Some of these are better values than others. Lately I have noticed a trend for the number of points required to redeem going up, so I have started to redeem as soon as I can get the minimum, even though higher amounts may be better values. I usually get Barnes and Noble gift cards. They are a better value (in $ per point) than any other book/cd merchant available. I have never seen a survey to obtain points there other than their own initial survey, in years of participation.

I love this site. This was the first reward program I signed up for and I will stay with them for a long long time. I do not make a lot of online purchases but get points thru the emails they send out. They send out the gc’s VERY quickly too.

I’ve been with mypoints for almost 3 years, have spent very little money, and have gotten ALOT of free stuff, and about $300 in gift certificates from points! I sure hope they are not going BK- so far they’ve been the best!

I cashed in my points with MyPoints when I heard there might be problems, and just got the reward in the mail. Plus there have been plenty of email ads, so looks like they are still going strong. So glad, since this is one of my favorites.

I joined mypoints back about 3 years ago. I’ve been really happy with this program and have earned quite a bit of points over the last couple of years. I’ve redeemed my points several times for gift cards, gas cards, and gift certificates. I love this program. Other programs I have joined turned out to be a joke.

I have not been getting my points for over two weeks. What is wrong!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Also, many time I click on the SHOW ME button to get into the website of the email and all I get is a blank page or I get a error statement stating that I have timed out such as following:
Problem Report
The system detected a DNS Server Failure while attempting to retrieve the URL: http://r.rd05.com/r?oid=365&lid=11682&sid=428236002060.
Message ID
DNS_SERVER_FAILURE
Problem Description
DNS server failure encountered for host ‘r.rd05.com’.
Possible Problem Cause
The DNS server is temporarily unavailable, or the network is experiencing transient data loss.
Possible Solution
Try again at a later time.
Are you doing the same thing that Sportsline.com did of not honoring your agreement of awarding points?????? I am getting tire of the problem. May be I should just stop. I did once before because of this problem.
The reason why I think that I am having this problem is before I use to get a statement I could only get the points once. But I do not get this statement anymore even if I go into the site more than once. What is wrong with your site for not getting me the points even when I go into the site.

Be careful to watch your account with MyPoints. Several times I have not been credited or they have deducted points saying “it was a site error”. I have tried to call them several times and no one returns my messages. Emailing them only gets you an automated response. They still owe me in excess of 1100 points and I can not get them to correct THEIR error. I fear they are perhaps having financial problems!!

I joined mypoints in April through the Biolife Plasma doantion program and I have to say I am extremely disappointed. I never get credited for the points I am supposed to get and I have to e-mail them several times. They screwed up my plasma donation points as well. When I e-mail them for example about points I was supposed to get for the bonus mail e-mails, they respond with an answer that has nothing to do with my problem. I filed a complaint with the better business bureau and they still would not credit me my plasma donation points. I also checked with the Better Business Bureau and get this, they have had 156 complaints against them in the last three years. If they are having financial trouble I am not surprised.

Also after I filed they wouldn’t even give me any goodwill points either.

I Love MyPoints. I have been with them for years. I have received around three hundred dollars over the years in gift certificates. Whenever I cash in my points, I receive my certificate in less than three weeks. I admit that sometimes the points are slow showing up on my account, but they always do eventually. I have filled out several surveys, clicked on all the emails and always go through their links when I purchase online. The Macy’s certificate and Barnes and Nobles is my favorites because you get more for less points.
THEY ARE THE EASIEST AND BEST REWARD SITE ON THE NET!!!!

I belong to Mypoints, PCHpoints, and Memolink, and I used to belong to blink. Out of all of the sites I have belonged to I have had the least amount of trouble with Mypoints, occasionally I have a little trouble getting points credited, but I always keep my confirmation emails and have been able to get credited after forwarding the emails. I have gotten every single giftcard I have ordered from Mypoints within a reasonable amount of time compared to other sites. I ordered a giftcard shortly before xmas and got it in time for the after xmas sales. My favorite giftcard on there is the Bath and Bodyworks card, for 3000 points you get a 25 dollar giftcard and since Bath and Bodyworks is not someplace that I would normally shop at because of the prices, we do love the hand soaps and bath creams, so its a nice indulgence for us. We watch and buy alot of movies, so almost everytime they send out the email for the foxstore I order something, you can usually get 1000 to 2000 points for ordering one dvd or vhs movie and sometimes they have them as low as $5.94 with free shipping, we have ordered several for $7.49 each with free shipping, and it only took me two movies to earn 3000 points.

BE CAREFUL USING MYPOINTS!!!
I accrued over 10,000 points, and they mysteriously kicked me off the program. When asked about the reason, they answered:
“Unfortunately, we are not at liberty to discuss the details of your account history or the factors that led to your expulsion from the
MyPoints program. The matter has been closed.
We apologize that our relationship ended in this manner.
Future correspondence regarding this issue will not be addressed.” THE REASON WHY THEY COULDN’T GIVE ME A REASON IS BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT READY TO PAY SUCH A HIGH AMOUNT OF POINT REDEMPTION!!!!@$@#$ DON’T JOIN MYPOINTS!!! DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME!

I’ve been a member of MyPoints for nearly six years now and I’ve enjoyed them and have had no problems whatsoever. The only time an order of mine was lost, they immediately replaced it!
Now Memolink is a different story….I’ve been a member of them for nearly four years and they have gotten worse and worse. They don’t deliver prizes on time and they are causing trouble by giving top prize delivery priority to members who “make them more money”. It is a scam and I would avoid. I’m suprised that nobody has gone after them with a class action suit.
Now Mypoints is good…I would highly recommend them. Avoid Memolink like the plague.

MyPoints has been a really good program for me, especially since getting their branded MasterCard. I have earned over $250 in rewards over the course of about three years; slowly, slowly, at first with just the emails and a little shopping, much more quickly recently because of the card which can be used everywhere. Delivery of rewards was really speedy this last time.
MyPoints is not the only program I belong to, but it is definitely the best to me, and the one I use first!

I have never had a problem with MyPoints until now. I received an offer to earn 2,000 points for purchasing a particular DVD through Fox Broadcasting. I have been a MyPoints customer for more than a year and a half, earned than 33,000 points, and have enjoyed my membership very much until recently. As of the end of September, 2004, there had only been one problem with my credits –even though it wasn’t MyPoints’ fault, they were very responsive and helpful in fixing it. In October, 2004, something changed — a cascade of misfortune and apparent corporate apathy. A half dozen things have not been credited to my account (including a 2,400 4-points-for-a-dollar $600 Sharper Image order I placed through the site more than a month ago!) I had previously earned a lot of points through the MyPoints Master Card but this was also screwed up this month. They seem to be grandly disregarding customer e-mails and no wonder! Judging from the sequential tracking numbers automatically assigned by MyPoints to customer complaints, they are apparently receiving thousands of them. I get the impression that someone at MyPoints just isn’t interested in it anymore — if they don’t care, it’s hard to expect the customers to.

I love mypoints. It’s one of the best programs I belong to. Granted, everynow and then 5 or so points won’t get posted, but the upside is they have ample opportunities to earn points, and their rewards get mailed to me very quickly. If you want a referral e-mail me at jfso@hotmail.com.

I have tried over 20 rewards sites. Other than the now defunct Sweepsclub this is my favorite. I’ve had one major problem since 5-24-01 when I joined about 750 points I was never credited. On the flip side $175 in GCs in the last 11 months alone isn’t half bad. That’s a lot of free eating for me and my boys.

I have been a member of Mypoints since it started. In the beginning, it was much more honest and delivered its rewards. Last year, they started bumping up points. (For instance, the site would tell you that it took 2,750 points to get a gift certificate, then when you got close to that, it would suddenly change to 3,000, etc.) I also noticed that a good deal of points weren’t being posted to my account. When I inquired in November about this, I was asked to supply a federal ID with photo! I quit the site immediately. I don’t trust ‘em. At all.

I agree–Mypoints used to be okay. Now it’s awful. I’ve sent e-mails to their partners stating that I refuse to fulfill the terms of the purchases because of the points. The partners have been agreeable. I’m dismayed by what mypoints turned into.

I USED TO LOVE MY POINTS. NOT ANY MORE!
I built up 5,000 points, and when I spent them, they “disabled” my account. The only way they said they would reactivate it is if I sent them a copy of my drivers license or passport WITH the PHOTO!!! They would not give me a contact name or number, just insisted that I mail or fax it.
This is insane. I don’t trust any company that asks for that. It’s pure phishing, and I worry about the amount of info MyPoints garnered through all of the purchases and surverys.

I love My Points! I did have problems at Christmas time,(points not credited upon purchase) but learned through an e-mail from them (after I complained) that the points would be credited within 2 weeks of the product transaction. Sure enough, I did receive all of the points I was promised. I have also redeemed my points twice since Christmas for Home Depot $25.00 gift cards. Both times, the cards were received with in 4 weeks.

Regarding having them request a copy of a photo ID with personal identification information, I had the same problem. This is after I had been a member–basically since they started. I also cancelled my membership. Through their emails, I had recently joined two book clubs and joined a survey group. I wrote both and told them that I wasn’t going to pay for the books because of MyPoints. Anybody who doesn’t recognize privacy concerns like that shouldn’t exist. From reading these e-mails, it sounds like MyPoints is okay until you’ve been with them for a while. Then they start scaming.

I’ve been a member since the beginning almost…at least 5 years from memory… and have NEVER had this much trouble with them before :(

THAT’S RIDICULOUS!!!! THEY ARE NO GOOD. They’ve gone wayyyy downhill. Not only have they started “misplacing” points, but they’ve started making long-time members provide id’s that would obviously cause ID theft problems. I’ve also been a member since the beginning (I think about 10 years) and I don’t want ANYTHING to do with them anymore. After the reading about them asking for a photo ID, I cancelled my membership. Funny…they managed to disable my account, but still send me crap. I loved ‘em, now I hate ‘em.

They have always been responsive until recently. I have had to hound them for points over the years but they had always awarded these points once I sent them the confirmation e-mails. I recently made a huge purchase through their site and they tell me they cannot issue me the points as they are not associated with the vendor. After a million emails back and forth I am cashing out. The vendor was there, I used the link, and made the purchase. Now they deny it was ever there. They refuse to give you a phone number or email address of anyone in a higher position. I am cashing out and staying away from all of these kinds of web sites.

I just discovered today that my MyPoints account has been disabled. They didn’t even send any notification about this, I only discovered it when I realized the gift card I had cashed in points for weeks ago, hadn’t arrived yet, and they’re usually extremely quick.
Upon discovering my disabled status, I checked with the other 3 members of this household who each have a membership, and 1 of those accounts had also been disabled! It really irks me, because I had just redeemed points for a prize. And many of these points were earned with offers that I spent money on, thinking I would be paid back the charges with my GC.
I just discovered this site here and am surprised to find that they’ve done things like this to other people. I’ve noticed too, like I’ve read here, that with the higher points offers, they have a tendency to not reward until you contact them, and sometimes no points even then…and it must be true that they’re being bombarded with complaints about pts not being rewarded. Awhile back when I had the occasion problem and wrote them, they’d reply back requesting proof (the offer being an AOL Trial, and the proof wasn’t even that great), and they’d cheerfully honor my request…I was very impressed. These days, when you have complaint about points, they don’t even answer half the time, sometimes they DO reward the points, I’ll discover later, and I’m never sure if was due to my request or what.
I wrote them today when discovering that my account was disabled, and hope that they’re only needing identification, but I have no idea how to provide a picture, because I dont have a scanner or a digital camera, and no pics in digital format online. Sure does seem like they’re losing money, since I’ve been a member for a couple years, and always thought they were extremely up & up. Never expected this with them…The 2 accounts that were disabled had about $100 due at this time to be given through GCs!

Mypoints is probably the best reward site around. You earn points so many ways amd you usually recive prizes in about ONE WEEK!!! They are usually slow with shopping crediting, however i made a purchase threw orbitz not to long ago and they credited me in about a week. However, most times you acatually have to send them an order confrmation or recite to get your points, which is no problem because emails are answered quickly. I recomed this site to anyone, even if you don’t shop online.

Laura July 19, 2005 at 10:50 am

To MaryAnn who had her MyPoints account disasbled: I don’t think they allow more than one account per household, which might be what’s behind all the other disabled accounts. I’ve never had trouble with MyPoints, but I’ve always just had one account. I always get my rewards, usually within 2 weeks or quicker.
To the other people who get blank pages or error messages, it might not be MyPoints, but your computer’s fault; try clearing cookies and old pages in history, and if that doesn’t work, restart your computer. Good luck to everyone, so far this is my favorite shopping site!

MaryAnn–feel lucky you got notice. Apparently my account is gone (they are “having difficulty locating” it, along with the over 10000 points I had accumulated). And I got no notice whatsoever–just tried to access it to change my address when I moved, just after they went to the “new” MyPoints. Couldn’t get in, have spent the last two weeks trying to get some help, and finally today got a “we can’t find your account, please enroll again.” Not bloody likely!

I am glad to see I wasn’t the only one having a problem trying to click into the MyPoints emails to get my points. I haven’t purchased any of the premiums in quite a long time, so I am wondering if this is their way of shutting me out. I emailed MyPoints and was advised to clear my cache, my cookies, my history, etc., but this did not help. I did get into one of the expired emails, which took me to the MyPoints website and I was able to get about 25 ‘easy’ points before it kicked me out of there also. Anyone have any suggestion? Is there an 800 number to call them?

Ive been with my points since 1999. I have accumulated over 20000 points and sm satisfied with the redemption program. I recently redeemed points for $100 worth of Shell Gas gift cards which help now that gas prices are soaring.
My only complaint with the program is that on three occassions where large point rewards invovled, I did not get the points & upon asking for help I was informed to seek help from the company taht I was dealing with & that led to nowhere. My points complaint resolution is non existant.
Overall points are easy to accumulate by clicking on links in email with additional points for visiting sites & filling out forms. This is easy cost free way of collecting points for gift cards, etc.

I too have had the same problem when it comes to getting points, as I purchased a dell computer and was supposed to get 6000 points, the stated that I did not give them correct information, filed a complaint with BBB they only gave me around 300 points, not to mention other major purchases I have made they still have yet to credit me for, the BBB is still investigating on this matter, it seems that if enough people make complaints, we may either gets whats due to us , or be able to have a huge lawsuit in hand.. we will see

This is information that the BBB publishes for “mypoints.com”. I contacted the number and had my issue resolved within moments. Best Wishes to you all. To date, I’ve not had any problems with this site. However, the webcertificates have been delayed for a bit. The representative told me that since the onset of the new website, they are getting requests for the webcertificiates. At the present, and currently in the works to revamp the way its done, they are having to print the certificates manually. They are working on a way to get the computer to immediately generate the webcertificate and send it to you. Best of Luck to you all.

Anyone know why I can’t redeem points at mypoints anymore? I have the points, but they have nothing listed to redeem them for. The redeem pages for merchants either has nothing listed or says temporarily out of stock. I’ve emailed them about this a couple of months ago and was told they were updating the site and that feature would be working soon. So, I waited and have tried again and still…..nothing there.

Angela December 8, 2005 at 4:35 pm

I am so happy to find I am not the only one having all of these problems. I too have been with them since they started many, many years ago. They only credit 2 out of 10 of the purchases I make, and like others have said, it used to be easy to get them to correct this. Now they send you a cookie cutter email, and then later say oh we will credit the points. But basically they try and make it sound like it was something you did wrong, and that is why you didn’t get the points. I would love recommendations for sites like this, that are successful.

I have been a member of MyPoints for a few years now and have used it as a means of accumulating additional Hilton Honors points. In the past this has been a relatively simple process — 1,000 MyPoints were exchanged for 1,000 HH points and they were posted to my Hilton Honors account in a matter of days. However in the past year the minimum for redemption was increased to 2,500, and I made a remdempiton request in Novmember which has yet to process (although the MyPoints were deducted immediately). I have e-mailed a number of inquiries, but except for the automated response there has been no reply. I did notice when I first received a confirmation e-mail for the redemption there was some verbiage indicating that the e-mail address for my Hilton Honors account needed to be the same as for my MyPoints acccount. It’s not, but this has never been an issue in the past. Is anybody else out there experiencing this same issue with redemptions for Hilton Honors points?

I have been trying for months to redeem my points. There is nothing available on the site. I wrote them and was told they are busy “updating” things and rewards would be available soon. I don’t think rewards will be available…ever. This used to be a great site. I only had good things to say. Now I only have bad things to say.
They won’t let you redeem your points yet they sure can fill your inbox with clickable offers every day.

I have been a mypoints member from the very beginning. Sometimes they were slow; most of the time they were just fine. The past 4-6 months, probably the worst they have ever been. I’ve been asking about Bass Pro certs, which they have been out of. Their response: We are currently still in the process of uploading offers to our new website. Rest assured that all of our Point earning and spending opportunities will be available to you again shortly. We apologize for any temporary inconvenience…I asked them to please give me a time frame. Their response:we are experiencing a high volume of inquiries this holiday season so it may take slightly longer. Rest assured that your inquiry will be responded to. That’s great…I emailed them in mid February, and they tell me they are behind because of the holiday season. Plus, of course, no one can actually answer the question. These people are giving overstock.com a run for their money for ‘worst customer service’ award. They are getting very good at not only avoiding answering, but they seem to do a great job of aggravating you with really bad answers. I haven’t given up all hope. But I have redeemed alot of my points for other things, because we might get stuck with them. Hopefully not.

I have been with mypoints.com since 2000. I have over 15,000 points and never had a problem–until I tried to redeem them. I requested the 5,000 miles to my miles program and didn’t receive them and so as many of you emailed them with a response that was not a real answer to my question, that they have been experiencing numerous amounts of emails and not to keep emailing them about the same thing! I still have not received the miles and this is from back in Septemeber. I am going to give them a call tomorrow with the phone numbers I have found after all the countless emails I have sent with no progress whatsoever.

I’m so glad to find this site. I too have been a members for years and until say 6 months ago have enjoyed great service. Now I’m down over 4,000 points and cannot get any answers. I keep getting the same email saying they’re having heavy loads during the holiday season – it’s now March!! Thanks for posting the contact info, I’m going to try that later today when they are open. Will try to post any helpful info I get. Meanwhile, this downward trend does not bode well for saving up points in my opinion.

I’ve been a member of Mypoints since 1999. I’ve earned over 15000 points during this time. I’ve redeemed points for several things over the years, and never had a problem. I usually got 4-5 emails a day from them allowing me to earn about 25 points a day. But now I havent gotten any emails from them in over a month. I emailed them several times asking WHY??? I still havent gotten any answer. Worried that I would lose mypoints, or that something was wrong with their site, I redeemed all of my points for Red Lobster gift cards. I got the cards in the mail 2 days after making the request. But now I dont have any points, and I still havent gotten any emails from them. I have tried to contact them with no response. Does any one have any clue to whats going on???

I live in Australia and had built up quite a large amount of points. They emailed me a while ago and said the program was being revamped, essentially to exclude people from outside the USA. One suggestion was to take reward points in the form of gift certficates from Tower Records. This was OK by me because they have a good internationa mail order service. The points were redeemed but the certificate never arrived in the mail. I have tried to contact MyPoints several times by email but all I get is an automated response saying they were “looking into” my query. The emails keep coming inviting me to read and get five points but it is simply not worth the effort.
Many US companies will not deal with people outside their shores and some make this quite clear on their websites.
So, I am going to put the whole thing with MyPoints down to a complete waste of time.

I like Mypoints. I’ve been a member with them for 3 yrs. and so far I’ve never had a problem. I always receive my redemptions withing 5-7 days. Sometimes I do have to fight to ensure my points for purchases are credited, but other than that – I love the website.

I have been with mypoints for 3 years and have accumulated over 100,000 points. The only problems that I have ever had is them not crediting points earned but thats why you should save your order info and they should promptly credit the points. I saved the Circuit City gift cards and bought a Big Screen TV! I have saved Walmart cards for groceries and Hilton Rewards for hotel stays. It’s been great to me.

As far as I’m concerned, MyPoints is a bunch of crap. I signed up in December for it, and I just got to over 1000 points last week, Now they have frozen my account, claiming I violated terms of agreement. They state in their letter explaining why they froze an account, “MyPoints.com allows only one email address per Member”. Nothing says only one account per living address. There is more than one person living where I live, but they froze everyones accounts here. Personally, I hope they and the companies which owns them all go out of business.

My problem is that I can’t log in. Everytime I attempt to log in I get an error message telling me that I failed to log in. I have sent at least 5 email complaints to memberservices but they won’t respond to me. I know that my username and password are correct, because I even tried to sign in as a new member and was told that that username and password already exists. I have been a MyPoints member for quite a few years, and have never had a problem until now.

Thanks everyone for posting your comments, it helps a lot. And to all of you having problems with MyPoints, you have my sympathy. (It’s not worth money, but it’s the thought that counts, right?)

I have been a member of MyPoints.com since 1999, and until recently I enjoyed all the benefits of being a member. I had friends and family sign up telling them all how great it is. That has suddenly changed.
On July 17, 2006, I went to log into my account only to find out it was frozen. My husband and daughter did the same thing and thiers are frozen as well. I contacted them, and contacted them and contacted them. I findly sent a rather rude email stating I want answers now…they replied 2 days ago. They stated I have voilated their TOS and have terminated my account. I checked their TOS and it states “one account per member per email address”.
Of course I replied to their email and have not heard back from the. I am lucky that I cashed in and received a $50.00 gift card for Macy’s which was about 6000 points or so. I lost 2000 points which is what I was going to cash in.
After first I thought it was only me having this problem…several of my friends and other family members have experienced the same problems. Once their accout is over 1000 points they suddenly freeze. They weren’t so lucky…one had over 3000 points which she was going to redeem and now can’t.
I want to be able to redeem my points..then I will be happy to close my account with them. Its not fair I earned those points now suddenly I “voilated their TOS”, which is not true. I’m going to continue to email them until I am satisfied.

I sent this message to MyPoints who terminated me when I wanted to redeem my 3500 pts for a macys gift card. So far no reply…so what’s new?
I’ve been advised that if everyone who was abused like me by MyPoint contact Better Business Bureau(BBB) that we can get some action agst. this ripoff company:
Dear MyPoints,
I have been a loyal customer of MyPoints for years and am frankly outraged & disgusted that you froze my account and took away my points without any proof of wrongdoing!!!!
I have only one email address and never gave false information to any merchant schemes I participated in.
You sent me a list of general violations I am supposed to have done but WHERE IS YOUR PROOF???
I am going to be telling all my friends & relatives what a GYP and RIPOFF MyPoints is…I accumulated over 3500 pts legitimately looking at ads & responding to their member sites and I get terminated when I want to redeem those points.
What kind of crappy & dishonest business practice is that?
I am so upset I’m going to complain to the Better Business Bureau about your RIPOFF ORGANIZATION.
Needless to say I will be telling all my friends, relatives & anyone else who listens what a lousy company MyPoints is!!!!

It seems like July was a bad month for alot of us MyPoints members. July 13, 2006 I did the same…tried to read an e-mail from them and was directed to the main page of MyPoints and it showed my account was frozen. I had 7,000 points and have been an active member for many years. I was stumped as to the reason it would say my account was frozen so I first checked with my other family members and friends that are also members and to our surprise we have all been frozen. I just received the same e-mail from them that Lilipe had received from them after about 5 e-mails to them …only getting replies back that their technical team was investigating the problem. I only have one e-mail address and only have one mypoints account…yet they terminated me for some violation. I’m very perplexed and upset that it appears I and all my friends and family have lost all our points. I would appreciate any advice anyone could give me on my course of action with this company.

I was advised to complain to BBB but they don’t seem to do much according to some friends who did file complaint with them.
Maybe if all the frozen MyPoints members got together, we could start a class action agst MyPoints?

I stumbled upon this website in search of finding a new reward program. Now I am in total awe! I can not beleive that so many mypoint members have had their accounts frozen too. The exact thing happen to me this week after no notice are warning. I’ve been a member for over two years and this summer I received well over 500.00 in gift cards by actually purchasing merchandise. “HARD EARNED GC” and now all of a sudden my account and every one in my family and my friends accounts have been frozen due to violation of terms. No where in their terms do they state only one account per household. My hausband and two of my adult children also had accounts. I truly beleive they were upset that I had acutally accumulated so many points. My family lost around 10,000 points total. I guess I better be happy that we didn’t lose more than that. I’m now in search of a new rewards program. If any one has a suggestion on a new site please email me!
Thanks

I have been with mypoints for over 5 years and have literally cashed in on approximatly $1000 worth of stuff. I have not spent much at mypoints – only going through their website to buy what I need and never buy there just to get points. Thus it is cash in the bank. Their CC visa is great! I pay it off every month so no charge for free stuff. Currently I have $30 in Olive garden certificates in my wallet and another $175 in my travel account for travelocity for our next trip. I got all this this year 2006 – since January. Sweet!

What should I do? where to contact them by email or telephone?. will they open my account back? Three people in my family and 2 of my friends have all been frozen out this past two months.
I had over 100,000 points accumulated (280,000 with family and friends) and they froze us out when their “backpack” contest started, and when two of us tried to redeem.
We’ve been sending emails ever since and they just keep quoting it’s their choice to cancel anyone they like. What a scam! Now searching on this problem, I’ve come across hundreds!! of people who’ve had their accounts frozen this past two months.
I have reason to believe they’ve sold their email list as we used only specific emails for mypoints and now we’re getting over 100 spam mails a day. Strange how their the only company we gave that email to and now we’re having problems. Is anyone else having a spam problem?
I’m so choked they can get a way with this. It’s such poor business practice, lousy customer service.
It’s Fraud! It’s criminal!
If you’re not frozen yet. Redeem your points and get out while you can. Chances are they will freeze you when you go to redeem.

I’ve been with MyPoints for several years, and it’s the only reason I still have a Hotmail account; I use that account for the offers (have to use the same account or you don’t get points) and that’s where all the resulting spam goes.
On occasion I have had to wait for points to be credited but I’ve always gotten them eventually; at present I’m trying to get my 1000 for joining Netflix. Have gone round-and-round with automated Customer Care but I just keep replying with all the history attached, thanking them for their prompt reply but asking them to please answer the actual question I asked. Will be interesting to see how it plays out.
Can’t buy into the idea that they cancel you as soon as you get too many points, b/c some people get canceled at 500 and some don’t get the axe until much higher. Where is the consistency?
The “multiple accounts per household” idea seems most likely, and I haven’t looked recently but I always thought it was one account per household… Anybody who has read it lately can certainly correct me there.

“When will i be redeemed for my points,” I’ve been asking the same question from support of Mypoints since i have registered and they rarely speak. Mypoints site seems to offer the least amount of money for the points earned by you. I received a gift certificate from them which was a gas card, i was to use at the Shell Petrol pumps. When i tried to use it they said it was invalid. My experience has been that you make out better by going to sites such as “bocajava.com”, as well as a few others. Also, on occasion when you log onto some of the sponsors sites, through the main site that is offering the Gift, rewards or recharge coupons when you log onto some sponsors’ sites, that your transaction does not take long to deduct from your bank account. In other words, you are not given points for offers and the buck$$ are sucked immediately from our Credit card. So be careful while records of all transactions. As for Mypoints, in my opinion you get less money for your so-called offers taking because, most of the offers are a means for you to buy offer or/a subscription to a service. You must keep track of the cancellation dates, phone numbers, and whatever else you must do in order not to get billed after the offers. I hope this information is helpful for all user of Mypoints.com BE CAREFUL????? MISLEADING SITE???????

I have never had a serious problem and have been a member since the beginning. I might not have as many points as others who have gathered over the years… but what I did redeem worked fine. The first redemption was a gift card and that came super late–but I still got it… and the only other problem was of my own accord–I was upset b/c it hadn’t posted points for joining netflix, but the email/offer DID SAY 2 weeks and I hadn’t noticed.
Also–
Just stop getting them in everyone’s name that’s in your family at the same mailing address. I am sure this is why you are getting TOS violations.
Yeah, yeah, it might not specifically say that, but it should be blatantly obvious that the same mailing address should only have one account.
Otherwise, people would be signing up their infants or pets (who can’t shop/have credit cards, etc. and thus can’t operate the program on their own.)
Granted, a roommate is a bit different situation, but other than that it should be common sense that they aren’t going to support abuse of a system that gives free things as rewards for doing business through them.

I just cashed in a small point balance with mypoints for a gift card – the card came and has no balance on it. I called the company the card was from and they said it wasn’t even a real gift card. Luckily, I have never spent any money with mypoints – it was just points I accumulated through surveys and emails. Anyone else have this problem with them?

I’ve been a member since they started….I buy lots on eBay and while many of my purchases don’t register (I blame AdAware), when I file a request for points after the 30 requisite days of waiting I always get credit within 24 hours. But you do have to save your purchase confirmation e-mails to make that happen. In addition, I always click-thru on their e-mails and have never had a problem with those points registering. Are most of those e-mails for things I wouldn’t buy? Sure. But that’s part of the game. My experience is that the program works. I’ve gotten at least a dozen $50 GCs since I’ve joined and have 190K+ in banked points with no problems so far. And no, I don’t work for them or own their stock–I’m just a satisfied member. Hope you all have better luck in the future.

I wish I had stumbled upon this website sooner. There’s a wealth of information here, and it is information that would have stopped me from wasting so much time with mypoints.com. I’ve been a member for 3+years. I’ve always had “missing” points, but was really to busy to follow up on the situation. Now that I’m a stay at home Mom with more time on my hands, I do much of my shopping online, through mypoints, to earn rewards. I’ve realized that I haven’t received credit for any of my purchases.
Correspondence from mypoints states that I didn’t “click through” before I made my purchase, therefore I am not entitled to the points. I let them convince me of this the first time, doubting my actions. However, after the 2nd, 3rd, and now 4th time, it’s obvious this company is poorly run.
I’m cashing out my points and getting out. It’s not worth my time, I can do “volunteer” work for charitable causes.

Been with MyPoints since the beginning.. have earned 100′s of cards and never had problems.. have bought 100′s of items used for gifts from MyPoints (this service was discontinued).
MyPoints have only recently started offering surveys and such.. and they will eventually weed out the fake ones.. but.. on that note too.. I do surveys daily and earn free items and cards and points on the survey sites.
Everything has problems (even grocery stores.. did you stop eating, I think NOT).. why not weed out the bad things yourself and enjoy the rest of MyPoints.
A quitter is a quitter and never progresses through life, this is true with points and surveys.. hang in their and reward yourself.
My accumulated points are well over the 100 of thousands since 1996 and I have been 99% satisfied!!
Here is a “little’ info on MyPoints:
The MyPoints Story
MyPoints’ roots took hold as a class project at The University of California’s Haas School of Business in 1996. Over the next ten years, the company grew into the internet’s preeminent loyalty-driven direct marketing company. Early on, MyPoints’ four founders anticipated the strong pull of a loyalty program to influence the purchase decisions of online consumers. In 1997 the company launched BonusMail – the pioneering permission-based email program. By 1998, the program had grown to more than one million members and was rated “the Internet’s fastest growing membership site” by NetRatings. The late Nineties continued MyPoints’ impressive growth. The company filed for its Initial Public Offering in 1999, allowing it to invest in building the scope of the program and the size of its membership. 2000 brought additional benefits to the MyPoints membership, including the MyPoints Rewards Credit Card that allowed members to earn Points for all of their charged transactions. In 2001, MyPoints again led the industry by adopting the internet’s most rigorous set of double-opt-in membership requirements. These requirements became the accepted standard for all legitimate email marketers.

I used to be very happy with mypoints.com until my account was frozen by them and got no reply to my emails sent. They freezed my account after I won 320,000 points from them I am still working on this issue with the. Now, I switch to http://www.mrrebates.com. It works almost the same way as mypoints.com. It somehow is better because I can get CASH, not gift card. I believe if you like shopping online, you can find many many reward website just like mypoints.com and mrrebates.com. Therefore, keep hunting and don’t stick with any of them forever.

I am surpised to see so many negative comments about MyPoints. I have been a happy member since 2001. I do shop online and have the MyPoints credit card and have received apoximately $1,400 in gift cards from them. I usually redeem MyPoints for Kmart gift cards as I can apply that towards everyday necessities instead of on luxuries like restaurants.
I did experience a few problems with them during their changeover to a new owner but they were minor and addressed imediately when I reported. I would highly recomend MyPoints!

Blah. I can’t say I’ve had a very positive experience with MyPoints. Mind you I only signed up for surveys and nothing else.
There are too many annoying tech issues that plague me (their survey links don’t show up in my emails, surveys often freeze my browser tab after I identify myself). They can be resolved, but not without taking steps I should never have to.
The customer service was particularly unhelpful, going as far as to send form letters that make it incredibly obvious they didn’t bother to read my email, since the instructions don’t even apply to my issues.

The thing that seriously bothers me about MyPoints are the survey links they send out. Quite often, a couple years ago, I would spend 5-10 minutes filling out info directly related to what they said the survey was about… only to be told after answering 10 pages of questions that I did not qualify for the survey. I am not talking about the MyPoints profile surveys, I am talking about something like OTX surveys Mypoints would email you a link for. After one-too-many times of answering an entire “prequalification survey” in order to qualify for the survey, I now fill in the opening page of the survey in a way that makes me a 100+ year-old lady who Doesn’t Know her race, Prefers not to give her income, Prefers not to give any other data to them except a Northeastern ZIP code.

I have been a member, like some of you, since 1999. BTW All telephone numbers, are now D.E.A.D. so don’t bother. I have found that I have had to hound them for all purchases for points, period. They would “swear” up and down, that I never clicked through so therefore, they didn’t owe me the points, right. I would only get points for click throughs 5-50 points. Now they are playing a new game, no point for click throughs on some click throughs-check your accounts, folks. I used to Love them too. Until I had to call them every time I spent money. That was pure hassle folks. Now I am ready to contact the FTC (Federal Trade Commission) for unfair advertising and fraud. They are spamming you and I for no reason at all. We are being taken to the cleaners. And when you do, get your precious points for your purchases, they are holding the points for 30 days. So you can’t spend the points. See, it is a shell game. The letters they are sending you now, are form letters, I seriously doubt they have more than 3-4 representatives at that office and they probably are no longer in the high real estate in downtown SF.
(I know the building). I plan to get ahold of the Attorney General’s office also, and have them investigated as well. There is NO reason for there behavior towards their clients. (that’s us, folks) we work hard to learn about their advertisers, and there are better ways to do customer service than this! And not communicating, and pulling people off service AINT one of them.
So, if you want the FTC is online and you can make a formal complaint. I’d suggest it. And for all of you who *love* mypoints, don’t be surprised when you stop receiving your gcs or the prices go up. Just a friendly reminder, most of us used to get them for 250, to 500 points folks. They are pulling a fast one.

I have been a member since 1999. Everything has been great..up until now. I have redeemed (early November) 225.00 worth of gift cards for Christmas and have yet to see 150.00 of them. Maybe it is time to bail out. After numerous emails here is their last response:
Thank you for contacting MyPoints Member Services.
We are investigating this issue and assure you it will be resolved as soon as possible. Unfortunately during the holidays these types of investigations take longer than normal due to the abnormal amount of requests Member Services receives. We will notify you of the resolution once we hear back from our Redemption Fulfillment department. We thank you for your understanding and continued patience.
We appreciate your participation in the MyPoints program. Please let us know if you have any more questions!

I provided my account statement, sent at least a dozen emails and I haven’t received my card in 2 months! I am close to bail here. Sorry Mypoints, but you are beginning to suck!

Like those above, I’ve been a mypoints member for close to five years. Yesterday, I clicked to redeem gift cards from Barnes & Noble. Today, I went to log-in to my account and it is listed as frozen. I emailed their customer support, however in past experience, it takes over a week for them to get back to you. I am very disappointed. If I can’t resolve the issue with them, then I will file a Better Business Bureau complaint and a complaint to the Oregon Attorney General’s office where I live. I have close to 10,000 points on my account.

I have tried to redeem my points for months! I first ordered a CVS card for 10 dollars. I told them it was never mailed, they sent me back the credit on my numbers. Then I try to get a 25 dollar old navy card around christmas. I notice again NO CARDS. I then see a credit to my account numbers. Then this last time I try again for just a CVS card because, I am not sure what is going on… nope nothing! nadda…
THIS SITE MAKES LOTS OF MONEY AND IS GETTING SELFISH AND WANTS TO LURE PEOPLE IN WHO READ THE CLAIMS IN THE TOP OF THIS PAGE!
I CLICK THOSE STUPID 5 POINT EMAILS AND IT TAKES A LONG TIME… AND BUY THINGS LINKING THEM AS THE REFER… SO PAY UP JERKS, WE KNOW YOU ALL HAVE HUGE MONEY WITH THAT FANCY ADDRESS IN CALIFORNIA IN SOME HIGHRISE!

I’m surprised by all the negativity towards MyPoints here.
I’ve been a member for almost 10 and a half years, and in all that time, I’ve had maybe 20 problems, mostly points failing to properly credit, which they resolved reasonably quickly.
In fact, late last month I ordered $150 in Circuit City gift cards – They haven’t arrived yet, but I’m expecting them before this month is out. In my experiences with them, I’ve noticed that it takes about 3 to 4 weeks to get the gift cards after you redeem the points for them.
Do they have some problems on their end? Yes.
Do they try to resolve them to the member’s satisfaction? Yes. (In my experience)
Do they seem like a scam? No.
I will say this for them – I have seen Internet reward programs come and go – But through them all, MyPoints has always managed to hang on. I think this says good things for them.
Of course, I’m just a random guy on the Internet, so take my ‘review’ for what it is, and nothing more. I do not work for MyPoints, nor do my views necessarily represent theirs.

My account also did get frozen. I believe it is because other members of my household also had an account. I emailed them about it and got the same letter that I violated the terms. I wrote back and advised that I only had one account but other family members did have their own accounts. They emailed me back about a week later requesting I fax or mail my Driver’s license to confirm my identity. I blocked out all info except my name, Date of birth and photo. It took about a week after I faxed the paper work but they just reinstated my account today. They did not notify me that my account was reinstated they just started sending me emails again. So far so good. The whole process took about a month but there is hope to get your accounts re-opened.

I just got frozen fgor no reason as well. I redeemed enough points to get (3) $100.00 gift cards. I never received the gift cards so after I contacted them a few times and got no answers they froze my account. I have no answer for why they would do this then I read all of the posts on this page. It is amazing. I still have 40,000 points to redeem. I can’t believe they would do this. Isn’t there anything that can be done????

Michelle,
All you have to do is write them again asking to re-open your account. They will write you back requesting you send a picture of your driver’s license to prove your identity. My account was re-opened within a week and my 24,000 points were still there. I had also accumulated even more points while it was frozen. :)

watch them closely. i redeemed my points for a california pizza kitchen gift card, which still hadn’t arrived after 2 months. they finally credited the points back after 2 e-mails. they are notorious for not crediting points from purchases through their site, or giving lower amounts of points than the promo e-mails they send. watch your account closely and keep sending them e-mails until they resolve your issue.

This company is crap
They freeze account for no reason. When you have a lot of points, they will freeze it. I have 60000 point frozen. THat enough for 500 dollars worth of gift card. When i ask them to reopen the account, they give a crappy answer like we have sent your request to the mob team for review and then never reply back again.

Dina August 9, 2008 at 3:11 pm

MyPoints started out great, but they cut values of rewards and boost redemption levels regularly. They are also technically inept in that they will send out emails that are supposed to have a link to click, except the link gets left out and by the time you have convinced the lunkheads in customer nonservice of the issue it’s too late. Usually they’ll blame it on you, and if you miss getting a promised reward you have to jump through hoop after hoop, and you still probably won’t get the proper reward.
One example, if you click and link and there’s a technical failure, and you let them know, you probably will get some kind of response saying that unfortunately you did not qualify for the survey. What if it wasn’t a survey? You still get generic form response B.
Speaking of surveys, that’s all you really get these days, endless surveys, many of which freeze up midway through the process, or you answer dozens of questions about your habits and just when you figure the promised 5 minute survey is about over after 10 minutes, you’re told you don’t qualify. MyPoints was helpful and useful in the good old days. But I think it got bought out by a bunch of mafioso types, their photos on the web site remind me of thugs.

WASTE OF TIME!!! I accumulated about 20,000 points, through their emails and through shopping on their site. I was going to redeem the points for $150.00 in gift cards from Bloomingdales but they froze my account. What a scam. They were paid by all of the retailers every time I shopped through mypoints.com but now when it comes time for me to receive my reward they don’t pay out.
They used to be good, but I guess this is how they are operating their site now. Perhaps they are doing this because they plan to go out of business and are riding out their last days by not redeeming their members hard earned points.

Few years ago I belonged. Got a few ten dollar cards. This week I find that my account is in ‘violation’ after only belonging for six months. When I write to ask why, I get the email bounced back. My friend ran into the same thing, she got through, got her account back (minus points), and then now SHE is frozen out. Now I find out that my daughters went and checked their accounts and found out THEY were froze out. Are we SURE this company is in business? I plan to use the information here and see if I can get an answer, though I know they owe me only fifty bucks worth of gas (plans I had for this month to cash in).

MyPoints is a company that operates on a broken leg. They’re owned by United Online that acquired FTD.com in the past year. United Online also owns Classmates.com, NetZero, and Juno. These companies are all outdated (by metropolitan standards) and are struggling to stay afloat. MyPoints started out as a college project and has managed to survive the dot com crash (been in business over 10 years) which makes it a veteran in the loyalty program industry. They’ve made some smart choices in how they market their online clients, but their delivery and internal workings have caused the company to suffer. Their employees are not treated well and are riddled with asinine goals and materials. I’d be surprised if MyPoints weathers this economic storm.

I have been a member of MyPoints since the beginning. I never had a problem with them until a couple of years ago. Lately anytime there are a large amount of points to be awarded for a transaction I have to fight to get them. It didn’t used to be that way. Also, watch the terms on your emails. I was ready to shop for new car insurance a couple of months ago, saw an email through MyPoints, used the service and switched. No points they say. My insurance quote was lower than my current policy. Unless the lowest policy was higher than my current premium, they are not awarding points. So lately, I spend money, no points. Switched to Vonage three months ago. NO points. No response. I think that it is time to cash in the 5000+ points and quit.

I’ve been using mypoints since 1999 and I’ve earned about 100K points during that time and have never had a big issue with crediting points or getting the rewards. Until now. It’s been about a month and I’ve been trying to get my 10 points/dollar from a $500 Overstock order (that I really only placed because of the points, I could have gotten the stuff through Amazon and had it arrive much quicker). I’ve emailed 3 times and each time they basically tell me to shut up and wait, that they are in touch with Overstock. I’ve forwaded the confirmation and shipping emails after waiting the alloted 30 days (it’s been nearly 90 since I palced the original order at this point). IMO they need to credit me the points and deal with Overstock after the fact. Apparently loyalty for 10 years means zip with mypoints. When this is resolved, one way or the other, I’m done with them.
Mostly posting this because I’m sure they employ people to cruise the internet for market research on how people like (and don’t like) their site. I don’t anymore and I won’t continue recommending them after this.

I’ve been a member of MyPoints for about a year and a half, and I stopped getting emails from them all together about 4 months ago. I went from getting 3-7 emails from them a day to getting zero. I contacted them and asked about it and they feigned ignorance and stated that I must not be hitting the right demographics or something. Which is completely false, as I was getting emails from them every day for a whole a year.
After reading up, it seems like it’s a fairly regular tactic for them to just abruptly cut off any person who is actually making a fair number of points. I had cashed in about $150 worth of points over a year and I guess that was too much for them because after I got my last $25 gift card, I stopped getting the emails.
I would recommend it for a short term period but make sure to “cash out” frequently and expect them to boot you after a while.

MyPoints started out as a good idea.
Then their management and executives turned greedy.
Instead of being their to serve their customers, they exist to serve themselves.
If it suits them, they misread messages intentionally and it becomes next to impossible to get things sorted out.
Try finding their telephone number, it seems to change weekly!
You’ll earn points, but try getting a reward with them, the cost to get a reward is always changing, making points that you do have ever more worthless.

My points has really declined in usefullness and doesn’t seem to be doing anything to improve their site.
Now, don’t get my wrong. If you are buying a lot from their merchants I am sure you are racking up the points. However, there are other sites that reward you better as far as cash back offers than mypoints.
If you are just reading E-mails and attemtping to do surveys I would not hold my breath waiting to get enough points to make a decent reward.
At and average of $0.007 cents a point and an average of maybe 10 points a day optimitically from E-mails it you you take you about 150 days to earn a $10 Gift Certificate. About 2 GFs a year. Hardly anything to jump up and down considering the time involved in spending reading the e-mails and then sifting through the nonpaying e-mails and the survey mails that are very hard to qualify for.
Oh those 10 points you get for not qualifying. Don’t hold your breath there either. I just started doing Mypoints again and I am waiting on a pending nonqualifying award from 2 weeks ago.

I was a member of mypoints for years and it was good for when my husband was out of work and we would use the cards for meals.
Then I was letting it just build up and received an email out of no where stating my account had been canceled.
Out of no where. I emailed them and they claimed I had more than one email, which was bogus. I know I only had one email and all of the work was gone all of the points gone.
Which would have been near 75 dollars in all.
It then went further on to state I was (banned from the MyPoints Program, and any attempt on your part to enroll again may result in further action on our part.)
I did nothing to deserve this, but yet they accused me of doing things I shouldn’t.

I recently cashed in my Reward points for a $25 Applebee’s gift card. To my surprise I used it the next day after it arrived and when the waitress ran it it only had $12.82 posted to it. She called the 1-800 # and it was used on the 23rd which was the same day as it was precessed at the PO to head from IL to WA. Therefore apparently MyPoints now has GREAT employees that use the reward cards then send them on there way to us who have actually earned them; USED!!! Now I was forced to send it back to them so they can inspect the card or some $%&^.

Maybe the people with problems aren’t doing something properly to get their points. You need to allow their cookies and go through their links to get points. Also you don’t get points for expired offers. All of the offers have expiration dates on them.

I’ve been a mypoints member since 2003 and have gotten numerous gift cards from them for just reading their ads. Sure, I’ve bought some things based on the ads but I would have bought them anyway. No complaints. I’ve had two incidents where points were not credited after I bought something but a quick email with adequate explanation rectified the situation.
I do notice they just went up on points needed for gift cards. I usually get $10 gift cards to Red Lobster or Chili’s. Up to now that was 1400 points. Now it’s 1500 points.

Just a heads up to anyone thinking about joining, mypoints has been cancelling a lot of accounts without warning. They recently cancelled mine with no warning and no explanation. I emailed them 3 times and they will only reply with a form email. I had close to 3000 points and they are GONE! After it happened, I googled closed mypoints account and found that it is happening to a lot of people. It seems like they are claiming people have violated terms of service but conveniently refusing to say what they have done. It also seems like 3000 points is the “magic number” for getting your account cancelled. Some complaints I found suggested that the bad economy may have hurt them and they need to re-coup some $$$! Beware Mypoints!

I have been a member for years. I redeemed points in 2006 with no problems. It was entirely different in October 2009. I redeemed points for two giftcards to be sent as a gift to someone. They never received the cards. My Points will not reissue the cards or credit my points. Attempting to get an answer by e-mail has been futile. I keep getting a response that they will get back to me in 2 to 3 business days. And I NEVER hear from them until I e-mail them again, and AGAIN I get the 2 to 3 business days e-mail. It would be nice to talk to a person at My Points about this, but there is no contact info on the website and no phone number to call. How convenient for them! I would not recommend anyone joining My Points.

Now they raised the points from 2 to 4 per dollar. But they are still only crediting 2 per dollar. Emailed them about why I am only getting the 2 points, and they do not answer. Seems shady.

I recently redeemed several thousand points for a prepaid Visa card and received a card for HALF the amount redeemed. I have sent 2 emails complaints to customer service with no response as to where the other half of my reward money went. Since I had to spend money to earn most of those points it is reasonable to say that MyPoints has stolen money from me by not fulfilling my entire reward and not crediting points back to my account. MyPoints is committing theft and I’m willing to pursue it since the company seems to have a long history of such immoral business practices.

I was a member of mypoints since 1999. I can’t say for sure how much I have received from them, maybe around $125. Mostly, I would do the email click thrus to gain points. I haven’t always been diligent clicking emails either. Here in the last few years, I would use them to shop through sites like Pottery Barn, and Target.
When I opened my email this morning to do a click thru, come to find out, my account has been closed due to violation of service. Sometimes they would credit my points easily, but then with the higher payouts, like, Overstock.com 10 points per dollar. I had to contact them about that. They are OK, but there are higher payouts out there, like ebates. Not recommended!

MyPoints closed my account after over 5 years of my being with them.
I have spent several thousand dollars with their online retailers and was letting my points collect up. I was up to 40,000+ and BAM! Account closed for ‘violation of service’
I guess I violated their service by accumulating so many points that they didn’t want to pay out.
The Attorney General should get involved on this.

I’ve been using them for about a year now. I’ve received over $125 in gift cards in this year and earned points for things I was buying anyway.
You do have to watch and make sure you get your credits. Customer Service has ALWAYS been polite and helpful and got my points credited to my account. I send polite emails and include the text of the receipt (rather than send a cranky complaining email right off the bat). I’d say about 25% of my points don’t get credited unless I say something, but have never had points denied when I sent in an email asking what was up.
I’ve never had a problem with customer service with them, either.

Had no problem with redeeming a few smaller value gift cards over the last few years. However, earlier this year while saving points for larger awards earned by reading emails, surveys and spending at their vendors, BOOM, they froze my account with no explanation and will not reply to emails. Total lack of customer service and no phone number to call too. I am sorry to have wasted my time with them and money with their shopping partners.
Reading about mypoints account problems on other sites, it seems to happen too often.
If you want to stick with them, redeem your points often before this happens to you.
This “GOTCHA” is in their terms of service:
Termination
AT ANY TIME EITHER MEMBER OR MYPOINTS.COM MAY TERMINATE MEMBER’S MEMBERSHIP WITH OR WITHOUT CAUSE. MEMBER’S RIGHT TO USE MEMBER’S MEMBERSHIP IMMEDIATELY CEASES UPON TERMINATION AND MEMBER’S UNREDEEMED POINTS SHALL BE CANCELLED.
WITHOUT CAUSE means just that. Must save them a bundle. Wonder why they have no customer service phone number.

MyPoints is part of a larger organization that includes FTD online and they are now huge SPAMMERS. Look at the bottom of every BonusMail you receive. In many of them in teeny tiny print, it says you have to opt out of future emails from this advertiser. Suddenly you are on all kinds of email lists you didn’t opt in for PLUS many of these are sleazy companies that quickly sell your email address on. Opt out that is snuck into very fine print is not best practices for advertisers and makes BonusMail a huge pain in the ass because you have to check every email, even if it’s not one you would click thru on, otherwise you’ll be stuck with SPAM. Complain long and loud and especially make a complaint at FTC.gov. Every spam email you receive should go to SpamCop. Maybe when their advertisers get their IP addresses blocked for SPAM they’ll change their completely shady business practices.

Mypoints does not give the points promised in their banners. What ever they promise you will get no points or less point

The banner promised 2000 points for a $45 purchase I received 244. They write back that I needed a $50 purchase

The drugstore.com banner promises 300 points, I received 5 points per $

I was promised 2000 for a Lancome offer, I received no points. You can’t write or check on the points for 30 days, then the ask for the original email confirmation from the merchant. They won’t accept the receipt from the merchant, the shipping or the statement from the merchants website.

Mypoints surveys seldom qualify you. You basically complete the entire survey, submit and then they tell you that you do not qualify. They are probably collecting the profits from some of the survey companies then not paying the individual.

There are much better companies out there. My survey or Opinion Outpost at least pay what they promise and let you know if you don’t qualify before you spend 20 minutes on the survey

Mypoints is such a crappy program, they have become the scum of the earth, they are the Fox News of the ‘rewards’ sites — fairly unbalanced! If you complain you get a complete non sequitur in response from the idiots in customer “service”. If you complain twice they disable your account and then after a few emails back and forth you get some message saying “Well you asked us to disable your account.” Huh? It’s such a crappy site, I have to go wipe my anus after I visit it. Mypoints deserves bankruptcy and soon.

I’ve been a member of MyPoints for more than a decade and haven’t had any major problems. I earn enough points to redeem between $100 and $200 in giftcards every year. I’ve always had my points credited properly and my giftcards have always come promptly. The biggest problems I’ve had are with birthday bonus offers, when the bonus points aren’t always credited on time. A quick email resolves this problem. I make sure I stick all email confirmations for purchases made through MyPoints in a folder and check them against my account after 30 days. If the points aren’t credited I shoot them an email and it gets fixed.

I have been a My Points member since 2006, and have enjoyed the program very much. What I am finding, however, is that they appear to “confuse” multiple rewards redemption requests if made around the same period of time. I am attempting to communicate with the right now that there appears to be an error with the redemption of one of several requests I made in December. They do respond promptly, just not with an answer to my question. This is a little frustrating, and if I stay with them, I will submit requests individually and only after receipt of the reward.

mypoints.com has the lousiest, most obstinate, idiotic, useless “Customer Service” in existence.
When I turned in my points for TWO $50.00 Amazon.com gift cerst, and One $10.00 JC Penny Gift cert, after eight weeks of waiting, they send me a “Code” for $25.00.

After a WEEK of continued e-mails, supplying ALL the information they could possibly want, they acted like I was talking another language, because obviously english wasn’t being understood.
Thsey were DELIBERATELY being stupid, and obstinate, and then they inform me, that they were “Turning it over to the Investigations Department”, and I need to wait SIX MORE WEEKS!!!!!

They are FRAUDS, CHEATS, and obviously do not give a DA-N about customer service.

There is NOTHING GOOD to be said about them, NOT after the inept and ridiculous service.

Mypoints.com, I have been with since 1999. I may not like the www design but then again I dont own the company. but after thru trial & error I have worked thru it just fine.
They maybe a tad bit slow at getting your gift cards to you but at least you get them.
I’ll stick with my points.
DO NOT BOTHER WITH REWARDPORT.COM. THEY ARE A SHAM. NOV 2011 i REQUESTED TWO 50.00 CARDS FOR WALMART ( I THINK IT WAS WALMART,ITS BEEN SO LONG I’VE FORGOTTEN. BUT I DIDNT FORGET THE AMOUNT) ANYWAY ITS BEEN 7 MONTHS. I’ve sent several emails replay are 2-3 weeks later stating they are behind because of www site new design which hasnt happened either. this company is a waste of time. DO NOT DEAL WITH
REWARD PORT! SCAMERS…. BBB HAS 7 BAD REPORTS ON THEM & RIPOFF REPORT.COM HAS ONE…..MYPOINTS.COM IS THE BEST & IT ROCKS. THANK YOU MYPOINTS!
