Message Forum…with a Twist

April 8, 2003 · 4 comments

Do we need another message forum for rewards program users and deal-hunters? My answer: maybe. That’s why I’ve added the CompareRewards Forum to the website, on a trial run. What makes us different?
Well, the other forums have strict rules on self-promotion. I don’t. If you have a website that you think others would be interested in (whether it’s about shopping and rewards programs or not), plug it! If you run a site and want to tell everybody your specials, I’m listening! If you want to put your website in your signature, put it there!
I have a degree in economics, and I’m a big proponent of the free market. I don’t think you can have open competition if information isn’t free and available. Competition is good! So, come by, post about any deals you see, or any deals you yourself are offering. I even have a section set up for you to request referrals.
We’ll give the forum a trial run for a couple of months — if it’s not used or if it’s misused, we’ll pull the plug. Meanwhile, please come check it out!
p.s. PrimaRewards members looking for a replacement forum…come on in!

Great idea! Only problem is that when I tried to sign up I kept getting the error message that all fields were not filled in. I intentionally unchecked the box to get promotions from EZboard’s “partners” because I already have way too much smP. All other fields are filled in, including all 3 password spaces. Has anybody else had this problem? Thanks!

It worked just fine for me a couple of nights ago.

Must have been a glitch the first time out. Retried the next day and all is well. How exactly does that treasure chest thing work and would it help if people used it?

Any user can donate a min. of $1 (through Paypal, credit cards, or check) to the community, which can be applied toward the cost of running the EZBoard. You would be identified as a contributor (unless you chose to be anonymous) and it would help defray the cost of keeping ads off the message board. Of course if anybody wants to contribute, I’m not going to turn you away!
Another option to support the site, which sounds kinda fun actually, is Ginx, the Nickel Exchange. There’s a banner for it on CompareRewards’ main page. You can donate as little as a nickel to this site or any other with the Nickel Exchange’s banner — and you don’t have to actually PAY until you’ve donated $5 worth of nickels (and then, you pay through PayPal).
Just some ideas…Thanks for your continued support of the site!
